Our Story

It Started with a Truck, a Wand, and a Work Ethic

In 1987, Rick started cleaning carpets for someone else's company. He learned the trade from the ground up — literally. Every stain, every fiber type, every frustrated homeowner who'd been let down by the last guy. He studied what worked, what didn't, and what it took to make a customer say "I'm calling you next time."

By 1991, he'd saved enough to buy his own equipment and start R&L Carpet Upholstery Cleaning & Restoration out of Independence, Missouri. No investors. No franchise fee. No employees to hide behind. Just Rick, his truck, and a commitment that hasn't changed in over three decades: show up on time, do honest work, charge a fair price, and make every carpet look better than you found it.
